This year BikeReg.com / Cannondale sent a strong all-around team to the Air Force Classic, which is now expanded into a two day, two criterium event outside our nation's capital. Given the absence of a designated "sprinter" in the roster the team worked to put riders in the breaks, as seen in the cyclingnews images above.
Our increased presence at this national level event is due in no small part to our newest rider, Shannon Morgan, being from the area and putting us up comfortably for the long weekend. This included numerous trips to the airports and train stations in the area, and often included a terrifically narrated tour of D.C. monuments and museums from the comfort of his air conditioned car. It was hot, very hot and gave us a good opportunity to adjust to racing in true summer temps prior to our trip to Minnesota for the Nature Valley Grand Prix, as well as U23/Elite Nationals in Bend, OR and the Fitchburg Classic which are all known for some good hot riding.
