Stage 3 of the Killington Stage race was a 61 mile race leaving the Skyeship base area and looping though the surrounding towns with a long finishing climb up to the base of Killington. Battenkill and Bennington Stage Race winner Brett Tivers of Garneau was in the leader’s jersey but also had multiple teammates in the top 10. Max Korus rolled with the early break and was away for the majority of the race with 7 riders getting a maximum gap of 1:33. Back in the field Josh, Evan and Robin covered other moves and helped keep me near the front and in good position. The break was brought back with 12 miles to go and Max, Evan, Josh and Robin all rode near the front to the base of the climb. Everyone was trying to move forward and the riding was dicey. Once we began climbing I was in the lead group with Tivers, 2 other Garneau riders, Sean Smith from JAM Fund and Hugo Houle from Spidertech. Other riders attempted to attack on the climb up to the Grand Hotel but the group always came back together. Once we were past the hotel we turned up the road with about 1km to go to the Killington base area. I attacked with 600m to go and was able to win with Tivers 2nd and Houle 3rd. Josh came in for a solid 10th place with my brother Chris in 9th. This was another win that was a result of the team’s textbook position and riding all race
